About Pastor Norm Story

I was born in Albuquerque, but my early childhood was spent in Wayland, a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts.  Later my family moved to the Washington DC area, where I went to high school and returned to work after college.  I am a graduate of Virginia Tech., with a B.S. in Biology. I worked in the Bird and Mammal Labs at Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC,and then went into the printing and office products industry.  Eventually I worked for United Stationers, a Fortune 1000 corporation, and from there felt God’s call to full-time church ministry.

In 1994, I graduated with a M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary and School of Christian Education in Richmond, VA.  From there I was called and installed to serve as the first full time pastor at Sneads Ferry Presbyterian Church, a new church development in Sneads Ferry, NC, 1994-2003. In September of 2003, I become the thirtieth pastor called and installed to serve at First Presbyterian Church, Las Cruces, NM.  I completed my D.Min. from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY in 2010.

My life is testimony to God’s gracious promise, “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”  (Lamentations 3:22-23 NRSV)
